In this world, it always seems as though we are at the effect of the world. As if the world is dreaming us, causing us, doing things to us, making us feel certain ways, triggering certain reactions. When the world does something, the ”ego” in us seems to react with various kinds of stress, emotions, fears, retaliations etc. Always it’s. . .
There is a non-duality model which is frequently projected on ACIM's teachings. It suggests that in truth there is only "one", and that in the separation from God many individuals were formed. This however is very unlike what ACIM actually says when you go read it. ACIM's teaching is that God created many individual beings - souls - who also. . .
There are two thought systems, and each has its own way of thinking. Each has its own logic and reason. The ego’s system, which is also the physical world (“the world is false perception”), is based on separation. It completely rejects any kind of sharing. It’s reasoning follows a simple rule, which is at the root of consciousness: This. . . is. . .
If you believe you are part of a dream, made of dream stuff, you can be attacked. If you recognize yourself as the dreamer of the dream, outside the dream like the container in which the dream is taking place - the mind - then you cannot be attacked. "If you let your mind harbor attack thoughts, yield to judgement. . .
You are never responsible for the freedom of others. If you make yourself responsible, you will believe they are part of your ego. Extending what you are responsible for, is like saying they are inside of the scope of yourself. And now anything they choose, anything they do, anything that happens to them, is interpreted as being something you are. . .
The thoughts that arise in your mind, have a cause. They are produced BY the mind as a result of thinking. They do not show up out of nowhere. Nor are they generated without intention, because "there are no neutral thoughts. " Ego thoughts are reactions, or effects, in response to a perceived external cause. They happen in a split mind. . .
"The sole responsibility of God's teacher is to accept the Atonement for himself. " The ego is completely against the idea of being responsible for everything. Since ego believes strongly in sin and guilt and the reality of victimhood, it believes that if you take responsibility, YOU are the one who is sinful and guilty and a victimizer. It wants to. . .
(this will be a fairly long post, so please bare with me) The ego thought system is based on separation. Separation resulted in space and time. In space, spatial relations are HOW the ego thinks. The physical universe IS its thought system. This includes physical objects, which are separated out, where an object is EITHER HERE OR THERE, (but not. . .
The idea that the world is just a dream, may sound very simple. But to fully and completely embrace it is a very tall order. If the world is just a dream, it changes your ENTIRE relationship to everything, to all people and object and events and places. Every single happening is framed differently, every interaction has a different meaning,. . .
Let's take a moment to recognize where we are AT, rather than where we think we should be. Although it may be increasingly obvious, in theory, what the truth is, it can be tougher to actually want to experience the reality of that truth. And most of us are still somewhat bound to wanting the things of this world, the. . .
First of all, let's touch on what the "authority problem" is. You as a Child of God, were authored by God. God caused you. His authority, or His power to Author you, designed you to be the way God wanted you to be. You are the result of His Will, your nature is as He chooses, everything you have is. . .
Basically, you simply just need to remember who you are, as God created you. To "know" your SELF again. Jesus: "I was a man who remembered the Soul and its knowledge. " "I have nothing that does not come from God. The main difference between us as yet is that I have NOTHING ELSE. This leaves me in a state of. . .
When I write or read ACIM stuff, after a while I'll start to feel upset. I may feel overwhelmed, or agitated, even hurt, and might feel like I want to cry. It's almost like someone just said a whole string of lies about me. I look at what part of me feels this way and I acknowledge what it is. . .
In ACIM Jesus sometimes says things which SOUND contradictory, but they are not. He will claim one thing, then claim another, sometimes in the same sentence. And it will sound like the two things are totally opposite. So then you'll tend to conclude only one of the two statements can be true. But this is a mistake. Here are some. . .
You'll often hear talk of how "my ego this" and how "the ego" that. A lot of clout and blame is pinned on "the ego" now. It's used to describe all kinds of stuff in the world and in life. People have even turned it into a kind of enemy that they fight with and blame and try to accuse. . .
If I am upset, I must be mistaken, and I must have chosen wrongly. "I must have made a wrong decision because I'm not at peace. " If I am feeling anything other than love, joy, happiness, peace, then I've made a wrong decision. And it was me who decided it, meaning that I decided not to be happy. . .
"Anger takes many forms, but it cannot long deceive those who will learn that love brings no guilt at all, and what brings guilt cannot be love and must be anger. All anger is nothing more than an attempt to make someone feel guilty, and this attempt is the only basis the ego accepts for special relationships. Guilt is the. . .
The requirement to eat and get food is built into spacetime, did you know that? If space is the idea that something is "over here and not over there", then the thing over here lacks what is over there. This makes all of spacetime fundamentally lack based. Which means that everything that relies on it, which is all physical matter,. . .
